Romain Bly
Born in 1987, Romain Bly spends his childhood in Paris, where he studies classical trumpet and later French horn. On this instrument he achieves a 1st Prix d'Excellence in Performance and Chamber Music in Rueil-Malmaison Conservatory, as well as a 1st prize in UFAM International Chamber Music Competition. Because of his passion for the symphony orchestra, he becomes a permanent member in Orchester-Atelier Ostinato and plays first horn in Orchester Symphonique du Loiret, chosen by the European Commission to go to Damascus National Opera for a creation with a Syrian/European ensemble and join the Camerata van Tirana at the International Music Festival of Calenzana (Corsica) with the pianist Stephen Kovacevich as a soloist. Meanwhile, Romain continues to play the trumpet, with numerous artists from the Parisian pop / reggae / funk scene, and founds the band Les Gars Dans L’Coin. He also graduates from Natural Horn Performance with the highest grade in CRR Paris. In 2011 he moves to Rotterdam to develop his skills with Bob Stoel, Martin van de Merwe and Teunis van der Zwart (for the natural horn).
